My path to the beautiful coastal life of North Carolina begins in the heart of Cajun Country, Lafayette, LA. My goal of playing NCAA Division I soccer landed me in Richmond, VA where I attended and received my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University in Therapeutic Recreation and Sports Management respectively. Following, I spent nearly 8 years playing professional soccer and coaching youth soccer between Virginia Beach and Dallas, TX until starting my family in Greensboro, NC. Along the way I earned my B level national soccer coaching license. I returned to school for an Associates degree earning my Physical Therapist Assistant license from Greensboro Technical Community College. I have worked in skilled nursing and in home health as a PTA with Wellcare Home Health locally. My competitive nature has drawn me to a new challenge of standing out in the real estate world in the Coastal Carolinas, earning my real estate licenses in both North and South Carolina. As broker and co-owner of Seaside Realty I want to help people in the same transition that I had to “beach life”.

Now to the better parts of my life. My talented wife, Jennifer, owns and manages Hair Du, a salon in Sunset Beach. My daughter Riley will be entering West Brunswick High School in the fall of 2020. Both enjoy the beach life, the sun and sand, and athletics. Our best times are spent on the water boating and beaching (and Tik Tokin’ if you ask Riley).

Work-hard, play hard and family always first; that’s the Midwest mentality instilled in me growing up in northern Indiana. Part band geek (drums) — part jock earning 10 varsity letters between football, wrestling and track (pole vault); I always worked either in the service industry or on a farm. I pursued a business degree from Ball State University (top 10 nationally ranked entrepreneurship program) and quickly found the Carolina Coast after graduation.

I married my high school sweetheart 14 years ago (Jax) and we have a 13 year old girl (Addie) that we’ve homeschooled for 7 years now. Travel is our family’s love but locally we can’t get enough of the fishing, boating, golfing and beach here at the coast.

I worked in the marketing field for 5 years before I started my own web and marketing company. I was proud to work with over 100 local businesses on their web presence and marketing needs over the last 5 years before I sold the company in 2020. (Awesome Website Guys)

I started a race management company in 2013 with my mother-in-law (Coastal Race Productions) where we manage local 5K’s and marathons.  I’m proud to bring roughly 10,000 runners per year to run in beautiful Brunswick County. I still work in the business and absolutely love what I do – there’s nothing like a finish line!

I’m a co-owner at Seaside Realty. With 10+ years in marketing, it gives me a huge edge to showcase a property for sale. Both in online and traditional marketing, I know how to reach a lot of people in unique ways and I’d love to discuss these with you. Living in the area and owning businesses here over the last 8 years has given me an opportunity to serve on the board for the chamber of commerce (2017-Current) and get to know so many people throughout Brunswick County. If there’s anything I can do for you personally or in business – I’d love to chat.

Jerry Hiester: Broker-in-Charge & Sales Manager

A lifetime of real estate development, construction and brokerage has equipped me to be a valuable guide to the talented professionals with whom I work. Running a “back office” that assures seamless completion of every real estate transaction is my personal goal.

I know that successful Real Estate Brokers, whether in the roll of Buyer’s or Seller’s agent, must keep many balls in the air at one time. With my team approach to the business, we make sure the balls all land on the closing attorney’s desk at the appropriate time.

I have held a North Carolina Broker in Charge classification for over 20 years and have taken regular classes to stay current with the deluge of changes in the laws and facilities.

I am formally educated as a mechanical engineer and find the tenants inherent with engineering to be valuable in assuring every facet of real estate transactions is met with accuracy and attention to detail.
